Jinkyu is the co-founder and CEO of AITRICS. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science from Seoul National University. Before he founded PIKL, a visual recognition AI software company, he had served in various capacities as a representative software engineer at Samsung Electronics for 6 years. Leading the group of software engineers, he was in charge of developing Web Runtime (WRT) and Specification of Common Web Service Platform for Samsung devices.

Jinkyu Yoo
Chief Executive Officer

As CSO of AITRICS, David is overseeing all aspects of AITRICS business strategy and development. Previously, he served as a Project Leader at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he mainly led projects in Healthcare and High-tech industries. He has also worked as a venture capitalist at EP Capital (UK-based) where he focused on evaluating promising UK healthcare startups. David holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Medicine from the University of Oxford, MS.c. from Imperial College London and BS.c. from King's College London.

David Do, Ph.D.
Chief Strategy Officer

Saehoon holds a Ph.D. in Machine Learning from Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH). He has won numerous awards including WSDM'15 best paper runner-up, NAVER Ph.D. Fellowship, and POSTECH-Qualcomm Fellowship Awards. After serving as a research intern at Microsoft Research and MSRA, he joined AITRICS to lead the ML research team to develop solutions that help physicians deliver better quality of care through advanced predictive analytics.

Saehoon Kim, Ph.D.
Lead Research Scientist

Jaeman earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematical Science from KAIST. Prior to joining AITRICS, he gained a diverse set of experiences working as a Technical Lead at DEVSISTERS. As the head of Software Development, he focuses on applying advanced technologies to our machine learning infrastructure and providing exceptional software solutions to real-world problems.

Jaeman An
Lead Software Engineer

Juho, Ph.D., is a renowned computer scientist and machine learning expert with a Ph.D. from Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH). He worked as a postdoc at computational statistics and machine learning group in University of Oxford. His research, resulting in several publications in top machine learning conferences including ICML and NIPS, mainly focuses on Bayesian nonparametric models and Bayesian deep learning. At AITRICS, he tries to develop novel machine learning methods that combine classical Bayesian learning algorithms and modern deep learning methods.

Juho Lee, Ph.D.
Research Scientist

Youngchul has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Data Mining from Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH). He has previously worked at NAVER corp., where he specialized in logic modeling using ML techniques. As a research scientist at AITRICS, he manages healthcare datasets and plays a crucial role in developing ML-based monitoring systems in the Intensive-Care Unit. His ultimate goal is to improve quality of care for patients analyzing thousands of complex medical records.

Youngchul Sung
Research Engineer

Yezina holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from McGill University with a proven global competency. She has previously worked as an associate producer at CKuT 90.3 FM in Canada and served as a Global Marketing Manager at KINTEX, attracting European pavilions for the first time in Korea. Her primary focus at AITRICS is to promote international business development while developing, implementing and executing strategic initiatives to drive overall business results.

Yezina Hong
Global Business Dev. Manager

Jongtaek received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Seoul National University (SNU). Prior to joining AItrics, he worked as a software developer at Unichal, where he improved the performance of character recognition dictionary (OCR dictionary). Jongtaek brought his proven skills and passion for healthcare to AITRICS and is currently developing an intelligent and intuitive software system for diabetes management solutions.

Jongtaek Choi
Software Engineer

Inhyeok obtained his Bachelor’s at Busan University and Master’s degree in Machine Learning at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH). His main research interests lie in generative models, particularly in the area of developing various methodologies and applications of GAN. Previously, he has given Machine Learning lessons at Samsung Electronics and POSCO. He then joined AITRICS to advance predictive analytics ML models and data pre-processors to improve the quality of critical care.

Inhyuk Cho
Research Engineer

Minseop has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Sunkyunkwan University and a Master's degree in Computer Science & Engineering from POSTECH. He has previously worked with Samsung Electronics to serve as a teaching assistant of Machine learning & AI. As a research scientist at AITRICS, he plays a vital role in establishing accurate prediction models by analyzing complex medical data like time series EMR data and visual images (CT, MRI, or natural images). His main research interest lies in meta-learning for few-shot classification.

Minseop Park
Research Scientist

Jiyuu Yi has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Engineering from Sejong University and Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH). During his Master’s degree, his research mainly focused on improving generalization performance of Deep Learning models in times-series classification and image classification. At AITRICS, he is in charge of developing data pre-processors and contributes to building machine learning models at the aspect of generalization performance.

Jiyuu Yi
Research Engineer

Onnuri has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Sungkyunkwan University. She previously worked as an administrative manager for several years at National Research Foundation and Industry-University Cooperation Foundation of Hanyang University. At AITRICS, she coordinates administration duties and maintains high levels of organizational effectiveness, ensuring the smooth running of all day-to-day operations. And she plays a key role in handling various R&D projects based on her good knowledge and experience.

Onnuri Lim
Finance & Operation Manager

Yejin received a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication and Design from Seoul Women’s University. She has been interested in the area of Digital Product Design focusing on UX/UI and Interaction Design. At AITRICS, she is enhancing the value of AITRICS’s products conceptually and visually by using UI/Graphic design.

Yejin Choi

Wonjoong received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Seoul National University. Prior to joining AITRICS, he has worked as a sales & marketing manager in the machinery manufacturing industry. At AITRICS, as a sales manager, he focuses on developing sales goals and strategies, looking for sales opportunities, monitoring market situation, and managing relationships with partners who want to apply advanced AI techniques to their business.

Wonjoong Paek
Sales Manager

Heejung holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and a Master’s degree in Brain & Cognitive Science from Ewha Womans University. Prior to joining AITRICS, she worked as a researcher at Asan Medical Center, leveraging her expertise in Medical Image Analysis with Deep Learning and Machine Learning. She has mainly contributed to developing medical analysis tools that enabled fully automated spine segmentation in CT images and classification of brain tumor.

Heejung Hyun
Research Engineer

Dongkeon is experienced in looking at things from various angles. With his horticulture degree, he managed to grow a wide range of specialties as he started his career as a software engineer. He began his career by developing and running his own football community. Then he successfully developed the website for the TOEIC problem-solving service. At AITRICS, he takes charge of all the parts that our users interact with and the practice of front-end development as a whole.

Dongkeon Kim

Dami obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Yonsei University. She then started off as a consultant at CVA and a strategist at MeshKorea. With her proven competency, she moved on to work as a business intelligence analyst at SendBird, where she mainly conducted competitive analysis to determine appropriate strategies for the company. At AITRICS, she concentrates on strengthening investor relations for business development.

Dami Yi
Business Strategy Manager

Yaeseul received a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Public Relations from Seoul Women’s University. Prior to joining AITRICS, she has previously worked at a PR agency that specialized in Global IT Companies, where she took charge of public relations of Dow Chemical and Dell EMC. With her strong expertise in the field, she joined AITRICS to establish effective PR & media strategy and maintain lines of communication between the organization and its public.

Yaeseul Lee
Public Relations Manager

Yongseon has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from KAIST. He has previously worked as a software engineer at DEVSISTERS, where he successfully enhanced his system architecture design skills as well as application development skills. At AITRICS, his primary focus is to establish effective ways to build and operate stable healthcare service that is fueled by the most advanced ML techniques.

Yongseon Lee
Software Engineer

Youngki received his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Science and Computer Science from KAIST and Master’s degree in Computer Science from KAIST. He is broadly interested in machine learning with particular emphasis on high-dimensional data and structured data. He has previously conducted researches on high-dimensional multitask learning. He then joined AITRICS to develop a reliable prediction model on high-dimensional and structured data.

Youngki Hong
Research Engineer

Jooyon is currently pursuing an advanced major in Computer Science at KAIST. Serving as the vice president of the IT Service Developing club, SPARCS, she has improved her technical and career skills. In addition, as a Microsoft Student Partner, she has put a lot of efforts into sharing new technologies related to blockchain & machine learning with her fellow students. With her strong passion for technology, she is contributing to the back-end side of the product development at AITRICS.

Jooyon Kim
Software Engineer

As Global BD Manager, Younji develops market specific business strategies based on her expertise, acquired through her previous experiences. Prior to joining AITRICS, she was responsible for developing digital marketing strategies for SK-II at Procter & Gamble APAC HQ. She has also worked as a research analyst at Boston Consulting Group and Bain & Company, where she contributed developing China market entry strategy for a world-leading chemical company and top-tier electronics company, respectively. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Washington, and is fluent in English, Chinese and Korean.

Younji Yoo
Global Business Dev. Manager

Heewon has a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese language and literature from Ewha Womans University. Prior to joining AITRICS, she has built her expertise in providing leadership to financial aspects as a finance & operation manager at a manufacturing company. At AITRICS, she ensures that financial operational activities are executed and delivered as per the superior standard set by the company.

Heewon Seo

With proven skills in developing and implementing effective strategies for the various scale of business, Jinhee is working in AITRICS as a business strategy manager. She is focusing on developing business in the global market with AITRICS products. Before joining AITRICS, she worked as a management consultant to clients in the pharmaceutical companies, medical device, healthcare provider and government sectors at IQVIA and Elio&company.

Jinhee Kim
Business Strategy Manager

Gijun has completed his Sophomore year at Cornell University, and is currently pursuing a Computer Science degree. He is particularly interested in functional programming, and hopes to obtain knowledge as he gains experience and builds his career. Prior to joining AITRICS, Gijun has worked as a founding member and a mobile engineer at The Footprint Sports, and was a part of SPARK Industrial and Design Team at Cornell University. At AITRICS, he is currently developing an intelligent and intuitive mobile application that could serve as a solution to the complex healthcare management system.

Gijun Kim

Intae received a BS of Computer Science with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Before joining AITRICS, he delved into reinforcement learning research at the Personal Autonomous Robotics Lab(PeARL). Currently, Intae is committed to developing advanced medical AI solutions by bridging a gap between theoretical machine learning fundamentals and practical healthcare products of AITRICS.

Intae Ryoo
Software Engineer

Yangwoo received Bachelor’s degree in electronics from Jeonnam National University and Master’s degree in computer science from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology(GIST). During master’s degree, he researched how to reconstruct images what the human saw by using EEG/MEG and GAN. As a research engineering intern at AITRICS, he support to analyze healthcare datasets and ML-based system.

Yangwoo Kim

Tony is an intern after completing his Master of Science in Computer Science at Stanford. He is interested in probabilistic machine learning and applications to healthcare, having previously worked on medical imaging and electronic health records. At AITRICS, he is currently working on graph algorithms related to drug discovery.

Tony Duan
Research Scientist, Intern

Jaeyoung is majoring in school of computing at KASIT. Prior to joining AITRICS, he has worked as a Front-end engineer at ‘Jr Coding Academy’, where he enhanced his ability as a developer and software engineer. In addition, he was the leader of android application development teaching project which is organized by KAIST Idea Factory. His passion as a developer as well as his interest in machine learning led him to AITRICS and now he is in charge of Front-end developer.

Jaeyoung Chang

Yunsik Choi is in charge of searching new project opportunities and leading projects in various domain including Entertainment and Finance which require AI expertise. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science in the University of Texas at Austin. In Austin, He taught several special lectures for MBA students, and a undergraduate MIS course in McCombs Business school. His research interests include Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Game Theory, Cybersecurity, Economics, and Finance.

Jinwoo Shin, Ph.D.
Scientific Advisor

Jinwoo Shin is currently an associate professor at the School of Electrical Engineering at KAIST, Korea. His current major research interest is on algorithmic questions for machine learning and related fields. He obtained the Ph.D. degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with George M. Sprowls Award and B.S. degrees from Seoul National University. After spending two years at Algorithms & Randomness Center, Georgia Institute of Technology, one year at Business Analytics and Mathematical Sciences Department, IBM T. J. Watson Research, he joined KAIST EE.

Yanwei Fu, Ph.D.
Scientific Advisor

Yanwei Fu is an assistant professor (actually the rank of associate professor) at the School of Data Science, Fudan University, Shanghai China. His research includes attribute learning for image/video understanding, life-long learning, open set recognition, open-vocabulary object detection/retrieval, as well as some multimedia applications such as multi-view video summarization and image segmentation.

Cho-Jui Hsieh, Ph.D.
Scientific Advisor

Cho-Jui Hsieh is an assistant professor of Compute Science at UCLA at Fall 2018. He was a Ph.D. student at UT Austin working with Prof. Inderjit Dhillon. He received his master degree in National Taiwan University under supervision of Prof. Chih-Jen Lin. Before joining UCLA, he have worked as an Assistant Professor at UC Davis Computer Science and Statistics for three years, and was a visiting scholar in Google since summer 2018. He is interested in developing new algorithms and optimization techniques for large-scale machine learning problems. Currently, he is working on developing new machine learning models as well as improving the model size, training speed, prediction speed, and robustness of popular (deep learning) models.

Yongjae Lee, Ph.D.
Scientific Advisor

Yongjae Lee is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at UC Davis. Previously, he has worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the EECS Department at UC Berkely and in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University with Alyosha Efros and Martial Hebert. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. His research mainly focuses on developing robust visual recognition systems using the vast amount of unstructured images and video contents with minimal human supervision.

Myeongjae Jeon, Ph.D.
Scientific Advisor

Myeongjae Jeon is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST). Before moving to academia, he spent years at Systems Research Group in Microsoft Research Redmond, working on advancing the state of the art in large-scale computing platforms supporting the major Microsoft services by making them more efficient, responsive, intelligent and programmable. In the context of machine learning plus systems, he has been working on scheduling deep learning workloads on multi-tenant GPU clusters to provide features like high efficiency, resource isolation, and fair sharing. He finished his Ph.D. in computer science at Rice University.
