AITRICS Announces AI Ethics Checklist in Collaboration with KISDI
2026-04-16
First participation from
the AI healthcare sector, proactively establishing ethical standards for
medical AI
Establishes a framework
for trust encompassing human rights, safety, and accountability

[April
16, 2026] AITRICS, a medical
artificial intelligence (AI) company, announced on April 16 that it has
developed an AI Ethics Checklist in collaboration with the Korea Information
Society Development Institute (KISDI), marking the first such initiative in the
AI healthcare sector.
The
checklist was designed to assess compliance with ethical standards across the
entire lifecycle of AI-based digital medical devices, from development and
operation to post-market management. It consists of 10 core requirements and
detailed evaluation items.
The
checklist was developed as part of KISDI’s AI Ethics Assessment Framework
project. AITRICS participated in the project, which began in late 2025, as a
representative company from the AI healthcare sector and worked jointly to
establish evaluation criteria that reflect the specific characteristics of
medical AI.
As
AI technologies are rapidly expanding across healthcare settings, the
importance of ethical responsibility, including patient safety, data
protection, and safeguarding clinicians’ decision-making authority, is becoming
increasingly emphasized. In particular, as these technologies are directly tied
to patients’ lives, there is growing demand for clear and trustworthy standards
for their use that go beyond technical performance alone.
Against
this backdrop, the AI Ethics Checklist was structured around 10 key elements
covering the AI healthcare sector as a whole: protection of human rights,
privacy protection, respect for diversity, non-infringement, public interest,
solidarity, data management, accountability, safety, and transparency. Through
these elements, the checklist is intended to support a systematic review of the
wide range of ethical issues that may arise throughout the development and use
of medical AI.
Based
on this checklist, AITRICS plans to review compliance with ethical standards
throughout the development and operation of its AI solutions and to continue
strengthening its internal management system to support the safe use of medical
AI in clinical settings. The company also expects that the checklist will help
raise trust in the technology by clarifying standards for the ethical use of
medical AI, while contributing to its stable adoption and broader use in
healthcare settings.
Kwangjoon
Kim, CEO of AITRICS, said, “This AI Ethics Checklist is meaningful in that it
reflects key elements such as patient safety, clinicians’ autonomy, and the
security of medical data, and serves as a benchmark demonstrating that our
technology fulfills its ethical and social responsibilities”, said ”Moving
forward, we will continue to advance both technological innovation and the
establishment of ethical standards, while leading the industry”.
