[April
28, 2026] AITRICS, a medical
artificial intelligence (AI) company, announced on April 28 that it has signed
a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Department of Health of Hung Yen
Province in Vietnam to strengthen education and academic cooperation in AI-powered
healthcare management.
The
signing ceremony took place on April 23 at the Korea-Vietnam Business Forum,
which was held as part of President Lee Jae-myung’s economic delegation. Amid
expanding economic cooperation between the two countries, AITRICS used its
participation in the economic delegation as an opportunity to discuss potential
collaboration in Korean medical AI technology with Vietnamese government
officials and establish a foundation for medical AI cooperation.
Through
this agreement, both parties plan to collaborate to enhance the use of AI in
Vietnam’s healthcare settings and improve local medical services. AITRICS will
work with the Department of Health of Hung Yen Province on initiatives
including medical staff training, sharing of technical and clinical expertise
through expert exchanges, and joint academic seminars. The company also plans
to explore the applicability of its AI solutions in line with Vietnam’s local
healthcare environment and regulatory framework.
With
this MOU, AITRICS has secured a foundation for collaboration with Vietnam’s
public healthcare sector. Going forward, the company plans to explore ways to
expand the use of medical AI across hospitals under Hung Yen Province and
gradually broaden the scope of cooperation, including by hosting an AI
symposium within the year for Vietnamese medical professionals and key
officials from the Ministry of Health.
Kwangjoon
Kim, CEO of AITRICS, said, “Vietnam is a market with strong demand and
significant growth potential for the adoption of medical AI. Through this
agreement, we expect to establish a foundation for the use of medical AI in
Vietnam and contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services.” He
added, “Moving forward, we will continue to build cooperation models tailored
to each local healthcare environment and strengthen our position as a global
medical AI company.”
Meanwhile,
AITRICS obtained medical device approval in Vietnam in October 2024 for its AI
solution, AITRICS-VC, also known as VitalCare, which predicts patient
deterioration. The company has also obtained regulatory approvals for VitalCare
in five countries, including Korea, the United States, Vietnam, Indonesia, and
Hong Kong, including FDA clearance in the U.S. AITRICS is continuing its global
business expansion by pursuing additional regulatory approvals in Southeast
Asian markets such as Singapore and Malaysia.
